FIT TIP: INCREASE EFFICIENCY DURING YOUR WORKOUT



Wondering how you can be more efficient with your workout; not to mention burn more calories, increase muscle mass and rev up your metabolism?  Start adding more compound training. Compound training involves engaging more than one muscle group at a time.  The more muscle groups you can engage at once, the better.  Because compound exercises utilize larger muscle groups, they are more effective at sparking muscle growth than single-joint isolation exercises. Compound exercises require more energy to perform. Two simple examples are a squat, targeting several lower body muscle groups, or a chin-up/pull-up, targeting several upper body muscle groups as well as the abdominals.  Want to work your entire body?  Try squats with an overhead dumbbell press.
