FIT TIP: Plyometrics Burn Fat and Build Muscle


What do burpees, jump squats, tuck jumps, and lateral bounds all have in common?  They are all types of plyometric exercises.  Plyometrics are explosive exercises that aid in your muscles' stretch-shortening cycle, meaning increased reflexes and power.  If you play any sports, it is worth incorporating some of these moves into your training session.  Even if you don't play a sport, they can boost up your cardio within your training session, and they help with power, strength, balance, agility, endurance and core stability.  They are a big bang for your buck, so get jumping!
