Ready To Run: Just Start.

Today at my school (this is my first year here after spending 8 years at my last school) I am starting a cross-country running club. Some of my Jr. High girls are training for a triathlon in June, and I opened it up to all of the Grade 4, 5 and 6 students as well.

I am SO impressed with the number of staff members who are getting involved, working on their own health, and being role models to these kids.

I have one particular Grade 5 boy, who I'm so thrilled to see outside running today. School and school-work are a challenge for him, but this is something he is completely looking forward to. He has been "training" since November and is beyond excited to run today! The joy I saw on his face yesterday when he was talking about his "prep" and how much he was looking forward to starting was inspiring for me.

I wish I could get a pic of all these sweaty, smiling faces heading out to run today and share with you, but FOIP will not allow me to. You will just have to use your imagination and think back to being a kid!

Just have the courage to start.
